YOU DO NOT have to be a resident of Lorain County to obtain a marriage license, if you are a United
States Citizen, and your ceremony will take place in Lorain County. Ohio residents must obtain
license in county in which you reside, then it is good for 60 days in any of Ohio's 88 Counties.

1.  In order to receive your Marriage License on the same day:  Bride & Groom both must arrive at their office
between 8am and 3:15pm with Identification, and if divorced, certified copies of divorce decree.

2.  You must have your valid Drivers License or State ID from the state you currently reside in.

3.  If you have been previously married you need certified copies of all previous Marriages.

4.  You BOTH must be citizens of the United States.
**if one or both of you is not a U.S. Citizen you will have a waiting period of at least 5 days.

5.  If you are 19 or under you must have your Birth Certificate.
